My first service at River Jordan Ministries was on October 30, 2022. It was amazing, I felt at home, I had never received so many hugs and seen so many smiles.Rev. Joseph Kirya took time to welcome first timers and told us how we are only visitors the first time we attend RJM, the next time we will be permanent residents and subsequently citizens. The Pastor was kind enough to give us guidance at the end of the service especially on what to expect in the new environment and cautioned us in Canada to guard our faith in Christ with all diligence.

River Jordan Ministries provides a space where people, especially immigrants, get together to pray and worship.Even more, RJM provides an environment where members build a community of like-minded people. I have witnessed on many occasions members of RJM sharing the joy and sorrow of their fellow members.Personally, I have benefited from RJM’s sense of community during my wedding and when my wife’s sister passed away. I strongly feel that I am not alone in Ottawa because I belong to a community which cares about its members.

Having a pastor like you is God's way of shining a light in the people you lead and serve.
You've always been there for me... indeed for ALL people! You go out of your way, without ever complaining, and make things happen. This you do in your quiet and calm ways! It has been a huge blessing, especially for me, to have you as the chief shepherd of River Jordan Ministries. You've made it a warm and caring home for all. Thank you for teaching us the true meaning of patience, perseverance and kindness. You've always displayed gracious attitude and positive spirit. It is such a rare but wonderful gift. You have lifted my spirits on very numerous occasions. You are such an inspiration from whom we learn how to go on in the midst of difficulties.

Over 12 years as the Councillor for Knoxdale Merivale I had the privilege of visiting the River Jordan on numerous occasions. Each and every time I was impressed by the energy and enthusiasm of the members of the congregation and their genuine commitment to the community. The Church can always be counted on to be a willing community partner on important City initiatives such as acting as the site for a COVID vaccination clinic. The River Jordan Ministries congregation is a big part of what makes Ottawa such a great City to live in.
